World's Largest Ice Cream Scoop in Cedarburg on June 28

Kemps ice cream company will attempt to set the Guinness World Record for “World’s Largest Ice Cream Scoop” for thousands of fans to enjoy at the annual Strawberry Festival in Cedarburg, Wisconsin on June 28. The 2,000+pound scoop of strawberry ice cream will be created to commemorate the company’s 100th Anniversary year with additional festivities to include ice cream eating contests, the Milwaukee premiere of Kemps’ Mobile Moooseum and lots of family fun.

Thousands of ice cream fans attending Cedarburg’s Strawberry Festival on Sat., June 28 at noon will witness history in the making as Kemps attempts to set the Guinness World Record for “World’s Largest Ice Cream Scoop” to commemorate the company’s 100th Anniversary.

Over 2,000 pounds of strawberry ice cream will be shaped into a gigantic scoop by five nationally-ranked snow sculptors from Minnesota Big Snow, and will remain frozen at 20-degrees below zero until its official reveal to the public at the Strawberry Festival. When Kemps’ Guinness World Record countdown clock strikes noon, the 2,000+-pound scoop will be lifted onto a digital scale for its official weigh-in with famed Guinness World Records’ judge Philip Robertson, who has adjudicated more than 100 World Records including the world’s largest hamburger. Once weighed, Strawberry Festival attendees will have the exclusive opportunity to actually eat a part of Kemps’ historic, record-breaking scoop.

Kemps will also provide a blend of activities at the festival leading up to its World Record attempt, including a children’s ice cream licking contest, an adult “no hands” ice cream eating contest, free ice cream samples, and the Milwaukee-area premiere of Kemps’ Mobile Moooseum—a 53-foot-long semi-trailer packed with interactive, family-friendly exhibits. Inside the Moooseum, Strawberry Festival attendees can “milk” the rubber udders of a simulated Kemps’ Cow, get a behind-the-scenes look at how Kemps’ ice cream is made on the “From Farm to Freezer” Wall and explore a life-size, 1940s-era stainless steel soda counter. Kemps’ festivities will be located on the corner of Washington Avenue and Mill Street in the Port Washington State Bank parking lot on the festival grounds.
