Fiesta 5k

The 5k with the Latino Flavor

A great way to get moving as part of a healthy life is to walk or run on Saturday, May 14th at the 5th annual Fiesta 5k, the 5k with Latino flavor. While supporting your active lifestyle, you can also support your community. Fiesta 5k will donate proceeds to Schurz Elementary School in Watertown where this year’s route is located. Stick around the school after the 5k to enjoy Fiesta Cultural, an annual celebration of cultural diversity that will include live mariachi music and a professional dance performance by Ballet Folklórico Nacional of Milwaukee. The Schurz Dance Club and Arcoíris of St. Bernard’s School will also be performing regional dances of Mexico. Authentic Mexican food will also be for sale. The 5k starts at 9am and is preceded by a 1k for 12 and under that starts at 8:30. This year’s route will start and end at the school, a mostly flat course. Participants will be professionally timed, and the top male and female in each age category will be awarded a medal. All participants, running or walking, will receive a t-shirt (cannot be guaranteed for those registering on event day). Registration for the race can be completed online at www.fiestacultural.org.
