Walden West Festival - August Derleth Society

Meet Michael Perry!!

New York Times best-selling author and humorist Michael Perry is the special guest speaker at this year’s Walden West Festival (WWF), the annual celebration of the August Derleth Society (ADS). This event is free and open to the public! Perry is a part time chicken farmer and EMT from New Auburn, WI who has authored such popular books such as, Population 485, Truck: a Love Story, Coop, Visiting Tom and most recently, The Jesus Cow. The theme of this year’s WWF is “Connecting with Derleth, Thoreau and Perry” but based on what we know of Mr. Perry, he will most likely surprise everyone with the topics of his presentation! The event is Saturday, October 10th from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Sauk Prairie Community Center at 730 Monroe St. in Sauk City. Michael will speak at 1:30 (for about 45 minutes) after which he will answer any questions from the audience, and then will sign books. Refreshments will be available, compliments of the ADS, as well as Derleth books for sale. The ADS is a nonprofit organization founded in the late 1970’s to keep the legacy of August Derleth alive and his books in print. Derleth, Wisconsin’s most prolific author, lived his whole life in Sauk City. The ADS is happy to provide this event for free but donations are gladly accepted to advance the goals of the Society. For more information visit www.derleth.org or call Tracy at 920-382-7556. Hope to see you there – invite your friends and family and don’t forget to like The August Derleth Society on Facebook.
