Tour de Marsh

Ride the Horicon Marsh

Join bicyclists, hikers, motorcyclists, and autos touring around and through the famous Horicon Marsh on Saturday, June 4 from 8 am to 1 pm for the kick-off Tour de Marsh ride. There is no entry fee and it is open to everyone. Choose up to 38 miles ride based on one’s comfort level. Tour maps and refreshments will be available at designated stations along the route. The map is a suggested route for a self-guided tour. Participants can start at one of the designated spots and then proceed on their tour. Each stop will have parking, refreshments, maps, information cards and restrooms available. The five “Tour de Marsh” stations are: • Horicon National Wildlife Refuge hiking trail parking lot off of Rt. 49 • Chances Bar & Grill in Burnett on Rt. 26 (N8592 Front St.) • Rock River Tap in Horicon (110 W. Lake St.) • Horicon Marsh Education & Visitor Center off Hwy. 28 between Horicon and Mayville (N7725 Hwy 28) • Federal Refuge Office and Visitor Center off Hwy. Z (W4279 Headquarters Rd. All riders who have their card stamped at all 5 stations will be entered into a raffle drawing. This ride is available all through the year, but the stations and raffle are only available during the kick-off ride June 4th. There will also be two one hour guided 8 mile bicycle tours on flat terrain beginning at 9 and 10:30 a.m. Interested parties should meet at the main parking lot off of Hwy 49 on the north end of the marsh. No registration needed. Routes along Dike Rd. and Old Marsh Road open two major nature areas allowing visitors into the heart of refuge areas which allows for scenic views of nature.
