“Gracie’s Car Hop” This is an old fashion drive-in where our youth will wait on cars and tables. We are not professionals! This is a fun fundraiser to benefit Grace youth ministry and a community cause. This year proceeds will benefit the Jill Prado family. Jill Prado of Beaver Dam is a single mother of four beautiful children. She lost her husband to surgical complications over 9 years ago; under normal circumstances it is difficult to raise children on your own, but she also has had to face the complications of cancer. About 4 years ago Jill was diagnosed with a type of cancer called PMP (Pseudomyxoma Peritonei). PMP is an extremely rare type of cancer that originates in the appendix. It is characterized by the presence of mucin-producing tumors in the abdominal cavity. She had surgery to remove all of the tumors in her body, a complete hysterectomy, and removal of her spleen. There is no known cure for this cancer and traditional radiation and chemotherapy is not used for treatment. Jill recently had major surgery at Froedert Hospital to remove the cancer that has returned, grown, and spread. The surgeon feels the surgery went well and hopes heated chemo procedures will stop growth for a long time. She faces a long recovery and we want to give her all the support we can!
