Investment: Free and open to the public No registration necessary. Meet at the front entrance to the Franciscan Spirituality Center. An annual tradition, this form of the Way of the Cross is a silent prayer walk from the heart of La Crosse to the Mississippi River. Along the way, we stop to pray and sing at places that represent suffering in our community and world today. The two-mile walk recalls the journey of Jesus as he carried his cross to Calvary. Adults, students and families are all welcome to experience this special Good Friday event. Please dress according to the weather. Please also note that participants will have to walk back to the stations’ starting point or arrange for a ride back from Riverside Park.
