Lil' Badger Consignment Sale: September 11-13, Monona

Sep 03, 2014 08:27AM ● By Tiffany Malloy
School has officially begun and perhaps you're recently realized during your "before-school-starts-try-on-every-piece-of-clothing-athon" that come winter, you have next to nothing for your eldest child to wear! Last year's jeans are all outgrown and his coats are hilariously too small. Ah, mama, don't fret; there is a solution that won't cost you an arm and leg.

Lil' Badger Consignment sale is a great place to not only buy clothes that are in great shape (they carefully monitor the incoming items so that everything sold at the sale is top quality), but also other baby and child items such as books, toys, games, winter necessities, Halloween costumes, and baby gear.

The sale takes place September 11th-13th (that's coming up SOON!) at the Monona Community Center. If you are a new parent or grandparent, you will definitely want to sign up for early admission to the sale at the New Parent Presale, which means you get to shop on September 11th from 4:00p-8:00p. For the general public, the sale runs from 8:00a to 8:00p on Friday, September 12th and 10:00a to 2:00p on Saturday, September 13th (most things are half off this day!). Need to know more? Check out their website.

Good things to know before shopping the sale:

  • The sale is CASH only—so stop at the ATM on the way!
  • Strollers aren't allowed because it makes it too hard to get around with all that great gear and all those people trying to score a deal. Babywearing is definitely encouraged!
  • You are going to be so excited with the money you saved on clothing that you might want to join their mailing list to make sure you know of future sales too :).
What makes this consignment sale stand out above the rest is that while sellers get 65-70% of the sales, the rest goes right back to the Monona/Madison community. The proceeds from the sale are used in a variety of ways- a youth scholarship fun, Monona parks and recreation, a Halloween Spooktacular, and a fall festival.

We're super excited for this sale and we hope to see you there!
